Ben Rosen

Ben Rosen:
Bass - tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12 & 13

As a bass player Ben Rosen has toured and recorded with many bands all over the world from UK band Kangaroo Moon to US girl rocker Nikka Costa. It was during a European tour with Kangaroo moon where he met and became good friends and musical partners with Shozo in1995. He is now based in Singapore working as a composer for Australian music company "Song Zu".

He was raised in Ladbroke Grove (London) of Irish - Asian family. He draws his musical influence from Hip Hop, Reggae, Indian Classical Music, R&B and Jazz. JC's unique style of rapping, beat boxing, poetry, vocal sound effects and his ability to excite the crowd. He's worked as a TV presenter on RTL Ireland on show Electric ballroom in 1991/92. JC is the former "World Record Holder" in Guiness book in 1992 as "The fastest Rapper in the world". He toured with Nitin Sawhney through Japan, Africa, Australia, Europe, in 2001. He's been extensively touring and recording with French band "Le Peuple De l'Herbe" since 2002.

Kad Achouri: vocal - track 3, keyboard - tracks 1 & 7

Kad was born in Mazamet, south-west France to an Algerian Berber mother and a Spanish Algerian father. Now based in London.

He has developed his own distinctive musical style - an inimitable mix of Mediterranean grooves , French chanson and world jazz all delivered with his uniquely seductive and poetic vocals. Kad has released his first solo album "LIBERTE" by Stern's Music in the bigining of 2003. And this album became "The Best Album of the month" in Song-Line (UK's music magazine). His 2nd album is on the way.

Shozo KimleeShozo Kimlee:

Born near Mt. Fuji in Japan. Working as a session musician. Playing yidaki (didgeridoo) since 1989. He travelled to Northern Teritory (Australia) in 1990, 1991, 2000. Learned foundation by Aboriginal players from north-east ArnhemLand/NT (Australia) where Shozo's style is influenced from. But his style is very original. He's performed all over Europe, Malaysia, Japan........ Now he is based in London.

Hilarius DauagHilarius Dauag:

Born in Ilagan Isabela/North Phillipines. Studied jazz and ethno-music at the conservatiry U.P. in Manila. Worked with Ethnic-Group Asin, Freddy Aguilar, Ram Lopez, Chicoy Pura and many more...... Hilarius's played first time with Shozo at Shozo's concert in Germany in 2002. Lives in Basel/Switzerland.

Michael OrmistonMichael Ormiston: Koomii (Mongolian overtone-singing) - tracks 2, 4 & 12, Morin khuur (Mongolian horse-head fiddle) - track 12, shahnai (Indian wooden trumpet) - track 4

Michael specializes in Mongolian Khoomii (overtone) singing, being one of the only non-Mongolians able to sing Khoomii in Europe. He has been studying Khoomii since 1988, travelled to Chandman,Sum in western Mongolia in 1993 where he studied Koomii with Tserendaava in his ger (round felt tent), and with Tsengedorj, Gereltsogt and Ganbold in Khovd and Ulaanbaatar. He was blessed by Gereltsogt to teach the basic practices of Khoomii in 1994 ans since then has been teaching Mongoloian Khoomii and overtone singing around the world.

Gareth Redfarn:

Guitar - track 9, bell - track 5

Gareth has been involved in a wide variety of musical styles both as a guitarist and studio engineer/producer. His wordk within the UK Asian music scene led to chart-topping successes in India for his re-mixes, and tours in Africa and North America as guitarist. He is currently based in Hi Street Studio, West London and enjoying everything from drum 'n' bass to world music.
